Derneğimizin, Adana Sokak Çocukları Derneği adı altında kurulduğu yıldan bu yana öncelikle sokakta yaşayan ve çalışan çocuklar olmak üzere güç koşullar altında yaşayan çocuk ve gençlerin durumunun düzeltilmesi, toplumda farkındalık yaratma ve önleyici çalışmaları içeren tüm faaliyetlerini aşağıdaki başlıklar altında toplayabiliriz:

• Eğitim Destekleri: Derneğimiz kuruluşundan itibaren, hedef kitlesi olan ekonomik ve toplumsal olarak eşitsiz koşullarda yaşayan çocuk ve gençlerin eğitim yoluyla güçlendirilmesini önemsemektedir. Bu doğrultuda, olanakları ölçüsünde, burs desteği başta olmak üzere, geçmiş dönemlerden bugüne aşağıda belirtilen başlıklarda eğitim desteği sunmaktadır.

  Eğitim bursu ve diğer ayni destekler;

  Derneğimiz bütçesi doğrultusunda kurulduğu yıldan bu yana çocuk ve gençlerimize eğitim bursu vermiştir. İlk öğretim, lise ve üniversiteye devam eden toplam 115 öğrenciye burs verilmiştir. Burs verdiğimiz öğrenciler, eğitim hayatları devam ettiği sürece derneğimizden burs desteği almaya devam etmiştir. Üniversite eğitimi için burs verilen öğrenci sayısı 30, 2023 yılı itibariyle burs verilen öğrenci sayısı 11’dir.

  • Açık öğretime (ilköğretim, lise) yönlendirme, kayıt işlemleri ve eğitim desteği; Mesleki eğitim ve okuma-yazma kursları;

  • Dernek içi eğitim (eğiticilerin eğitimi ve bilgisayar eğitimi);

  • Dernek faaliyetleri ve dernek hedef kitlesi konularında araştırma yapmak isteyenlere veri, bilgi desteği;

  • Çeşitli kurumlarda konferanslar ve eğitim seminerleri verilmesi

  Diğer Eğitim Faaliyetleri: Derneğimiz gerek yürüttüğü projeler kapsamında, gerekse farklı kurum ve kuruluşlarla işbirliği içinde çeşitli dönemlerde farklı alanlarda eğitim faaliyetlerinde bulunmuştur. Bunlardan bazıları:

  • 2005-2006 yıllarında yürütülen AB destekli “Sokaktan Geleceğe” projesi kapsamında toplam 172 gence kaportacılık, karo-seramik döşemeciliği, organik çilek yetiştiriciliği, alabalık ve akvaryum balıkları üretimi, kebap ve tatlıcılık, mevsimlik çiçek yetiştiriciliği ve bahçıvanlık alanlarında eğitim verilmiş, kursiyerlere ayrıca kişisel gelişim ve sosyal uyum dersleri verilmiştir.

  • Başbakanlık Sosyal Yardımlaşma ve Dayanışma Vakfı tarafından desteklenen ve 2007 yılında uygulanan “Aydınlık Yarınlar” projesinde Adana’da dezavantajlı konumda yaşayan 50 gence mesleki eğitim kursları verilmiştir. Organik tarım (fide-fidan yetiştiriciliği), büro yönetimi ve sekreterlik, tatlı-pasta yapımı, antik mozaik, marangozluk alanlarında meslek eğitimleri yanısıra sosyal uyum faaliyetleri de gerçekleştirilmiştir.

  • 2008 yılında Birleşmiş Milletler desteğiyle uygulanan “Negatiften Pozitife Kaynak” projesinde 10 gence kaynakçılık eğitimi verilmiştir.

  • 2009 yılında Çukurova Genç İşadamları Derneği ortaklığıyla 10 genç kadına “Büro yönetimi ve sekreterlik” eğitimi verilmiştir.

  • 2008-2009 yıllarında AB hibe desteğiyle yürütülen İŞTE BİZ projesinde 23 genç ve 7 kadın kursiyere aşçılık, grafikerlik ve kaynakçılık alanlarında meslek eğitimi almıştır.

  • 2014-2015 yıllarında AB hibe desteğiyle yürütülen “Çerçeve Dışı Kareler” projesinde 10 genç fotoğrafçılık ve savunuculuk eğitimi almıştır.

  • 2016-2017 yıllarında AB desteğiyle yürütülen, kısa adı “İşteyiz” olan projede 40 gence meslek, genel beceri ve rehberlik-danışmanlık eğitimleri verilmiştir. Aşçılık, yiyecek-içecek servisi, otel ön büro, otel kat hizmetleri, oto bakım-onarım, muhasebe ve finans, web ve grafik tasarımı, bilgi yönetimi ve raporlama eğitimleri düzenlenmiştir.

  • 2021-2022 yıllarında AB desteğiyle yürütülen “Geleceğimi Çöpe Atma!” projesinde sivil toplum örgütleri temsilcilerine ve 40 çocuğa çevre sorunları ve iklim değişikliği konularında ekolojik farkındalık eğitimleri düzenlenmiş, ayrıca çocuklarla “iyi tarım uygulamaları” gerçekleştirilmiştir.

  • 2021-2022 yıllarında AB desteğiyle yürütülen “Adana Sinema Mirası” projesi kapsamında 15 gence “Adana Sinema Mirası Sinema Mekanları Tur Rehberi” eğitimleri düzenlenmiştir.

  Derneğimiz tarafından çeşitli tarihlerde farklı alanlarda kurslar da düzenlenmiştir.

  Sağlık Hizmetine Erişim Desteği:

  Derneğimiz, kurulduğu yıldan bu yana belirli periyotlarla aşağıdaki sağlık desteklerini vermiştir:

  • Aşılama çalışmaları

  • Genel sağlık ve diş taramaları

  • İlaç ve yeşil kart temini

  • Göz ve kalp sorunu bulunan çocuklarımızın ameliyatları gerçekleştirilmiş

  • Madde bağımlısı çocuk ve gençlere destek

  • Psikolojik destek.

  Derneğimize ulaşan çocuklar, gençler ve ailelerine şikayetlerine ve ihtiyaçlarına göre sağlık hizmetlerinden yararlanabilmeleri için gerekli yönlendirmeler yapılmaya devam edilmektedir.

  Sosyal Yardım:

  Derneğimize ulaşan çocukların ve ailelerin günlük ihtiyaçlarına yönelik destekler, kurulduğumuz günden beri devam etmektedir.

  • Yemek desteği

  • Giysi ve ayakkabı desteği

  • Bakım ve temizlik desteği

  • Evi olmayan sokakta yaşayan çocuk/genç ve ailelere yardım

  • Ailelere erzak ve eşya yardımı

ACTIVITIES

Since its establishment under the name of Adana Street Children’s Association, all the activities of our association, including improving the situation of children and young people living under difficult conditions (primarily homeless children and those working on the streets), raising awareness in society, and preventive studies, can be grouped under the following headings:

Education Supports:

Since its foundation, our association has attached importance to the empowerment of its target group, children and youth living in economically and socially unequal conditions, through education. In this direction, to the extent of its possibilities, it provides educational support, especially scholarship support, under the following headings from past periods to the present.

Scholarships and other in-kind support;

In line with its budget, our association has provided educational scholarships to children and young people since its establishment. A total of 115 students attending primary, high school, and university have received scholarships. The students to whom we provided scholarships continued to receive scholarship support from our association as long as their education continued. The number of students given scholarships for university education is 30, and the number of students given scholarships as of 2023 is 11.

• School guidance and follow-up;

• Tutoring and follow-up at the association;

• Classroom support;

• Educational material support;

• Preparation, for university admission exams, follow-up for application procedures;

• Distance education (primary and high school) guidance, registration procedures, and educational support; vocational training and literacy courses;

• In-association training (training of trainers and computer training);

• Data and information support for those who want to do research on the activities of the association and the target group;

• Conferences and training seminars in various institutions.

Other Educational Activities:

Our Association has carried out training activities in different fields in various periods, both within the scope of the projects it carried out and in cooperation with different institutions and organizations. Some of these are;

• Within the scope of the EU-funded “From the Street to the Future,” project carried out in 2005-2006, a total of 172 young people were trained in the fields of bodywork, tile and ceramic tiling, organic strawberry cultivation, production of trout and aquarium fish, kebab and dessert production, seasonal flower cultivation and gardening, and trainees were also given personal development and social cohesion courses.

• Under the “Bright Tomorrows” project, supported by the Prime Ministry Social Assistance and Solidarity Foundation and implemented in 2007, vocational training courses were provided to 50 disadvantaged young people living in Adana. In addition to vocational training in the fields of organic agriculture, secretary and office management, dessert and cake making, ancient mosaic and carpentry, social cohesion activities were also carried out.

• In 2008, 10 young people received welding training in the “Welding from Negative to Positive” project implemented with the support of the United Nations.

• In 2009, “Secretary and office management” training was provided to 10 young women in partnership with Çukurova Young Businessmen Association.

• In 2008-2009, 23 young people and 7 women trainees received vocational training in the fields of cookery, graphic design, and welding in the project “WE AT WORK”, which was carried out with EU grant support.

• 10 young people were trained in photography and advocacy in the “Frames Out of Frame” project, which was carried out with EU grant support in 2014-2015.

• In 2016-2017, 40 young people received vocational, general skills and guidance-counseling training in the project called “We are at work”, which was carried out with the support of the EU. Training on cookery, food and beverage service, hotel front office, hotel housekeeping, auto maintenance and repair, accounting and finance, web and graphic design, information management, and reporting were organized.

• In 2021-2022, ecological awareness training on environmental problems and climate change was organized for representatives of non-governmental organizations and 40 children, and “good agricultural practices” were carried out with children in the “Don’t Dispose My Future!” project carried out with EU support.

• Within the scope of the “Adana Cinema Heritage” project carried out with EU support in 2021-2022, “Adana Cinema Heritage Cinema Venues Tour Guide” training was organized for 15 young people.

Courses in different topics were also organized by our association on various dates.

Support for Access to Health Services:

Since its establishment, our association has provided the following health support in certain periods:

• Vaccination

• General health and dental screening

• Supply of medicines and green card

• Operations were performed on children with eye and heart problems

• Support for children and young people with substance addiction

• Psychological support.

Children, young people, and their families who contact our association continue to be guided according to their complaints and needs so that they can benefit from health services.

Social Assistance:

Support for the daily needs of children and families who reach our association has been continuing since the day we were founded.
